In businesses with a mixed clientele, a purely NFC sign does not reach everyone: older devices lack the feature, and plenty of people leave it switched off. The black version therefore carries both routes side by side and lets the guest decide whether to hold up their phone or scan the code.
Two routes, one address
NFC and QR code lead to the same stored target address. If you change it later, the change applies to both routes at once — so there is nothing to reprint and nothing to swap out when your review profile changes.

Where black is the better pick
On dark wood, on slate and on black-coated counters a white sign does not visually disappear — it stands out, often more than intended. The black version subordinates itself and reads more like part of the furnishing than like a notice someone put up.
The reverse also holds: in very dim rooms a QR code can be harder to capture than on a light background. If your dining room is heavily darkened in the evening, it is worth checking that the stand catches enough ambient light.
